Pita Bread Recipe with yeast without oven

Ingredients:

2 cups of whole wheat flour
2 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
¼ cup of warm water for yeast
½ cup of warm water for the dough
Half tsp of salt
2 tablespoons of olive oil

Method:

1: First of all, take ¼ cup of warm water and add sugar and yeast to it. Mix it very well. Cover and leave it for 10 to 12 minutes.

2: In a large bowl, add olive oil, salt, and flour. Mix them.

3: Now add your yeast mixture and mix it very well with your hands. Then add the remaining half cup of water slowly and knead for 10 to 15 minutes. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.

4: Cover the dough with a cloth for one hour or until doubles in size. Make 6 equal balls.

5: Now sprinkle some flour on the working surface. Take a ball and make a well-rounded thin sheet with the help of a rolling pin. If you find the dough too sticky, make use of flour to cover it. Turn all balls into sheets one by one.

6: Place a large, thick bottom, non-stick pan on medium flame. Place one sheet in the pan and start cooking. Flip the bread in about 8 to 12 seconds.

7: Cook both sides equally. When you see light brown spots, then turn the heat up and press the edges of the bread. Use a spatula for this purpose. This step will puff up your bread and will add a more taste experience.

8: Your pita bread will be ready after completely puffed. Cover it to keep it soft and enjoy it with chicken curry if you love chicken.

2: In a large bowl, add baking powder, salt, all-purpose flour, and whole wheat flour. Mix the dry powder very well to combine all the ingredients.

3: Add olive oil and yeast mixture to the bowl. Start kneading until smooth. This can take some time and effort, but don’t skip this step. Don’t make the dough very sticky.
